What do you need to know about Chai Nat?
Chai Nat is one of the seventy-seven provinces in Thailand and is located in the central region of the country which is also known as changawat. The neighbouring provinces surrounding the province from the north in the clockwise direction are Nakhon Sawan, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, and Uthai Thani. Chai Nat is located on the flat river plain of the Chao Phraya River valley. According to history, the province was first established during the Ayutthaya period and was a site that was successful every time in pushing back the Burmese invasions. Thus, the name ‘Chai Nat’ was given to the province which meant “place of victory”. The provincial tree is the Bael fruit tree while the provincial flower is the Rainbow Shower Tree. The total land area covered by the province is 2,470 square kilometres within which it houses a population of 328,263 as per the census conducted in 2018. The province of Chai Nat is divided into eight districts which are then further divided into 53 subdistricts and 503 villages.

Chai Nat Bird Park
This is a large sanctuary park within the boundaries of the province and is an excellent habitat for the birds that you will find here. The area also consists of more than 60 bird cages that can be toured around by the visitors, although the birds are also available for observation in the simulated environment made for them. Chao Phraya Dam
The Chao Phraya Dam is a barrage dam that is built on the coastline of the Chai Nat province. The dam is used to regulate the flow of water from the Chao Phraya River as it is distributed to seventeen provinces across central Thailand and an area of 11,600 square kilometres. The dam is a part of a greater project that is the Greater Chao Phraya Irrigation Project. The dam was built during the years 1952 and 1957 and comprises of sixteen 12.5 metre gates.
