Jomtien is a small town at the Gulf of Bangkok which is also known by the more famous name Jomtien beach. It falls under Chonburi province and is at a distance of 165 km from Bangkok in the south east direction. It has many high rising condominiums, restaurant and hotels in its area. The place has experienced a construction acceleration in the past few years. The town has become very popular to even the locals as well as attracting tourist attention. The area is filled with high skyscrapers and housing developments. The tow has recently become an eagle’s eye for residents of Bangkok for a second home and it also appeals to foreign retirees. Noong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden – The garden is a very famous tourist attraction and is internationally acclaimed among travellers. The garden is two to four square kilometres long and has many landscaping designs and of course, beautiful plants. The garden is home to over an astonishing 670 species and more of orchids alone and many other plants and flowers.
Khao Chi Chan Buddha mountain – The limestone mountain named Khao Chi Chan was originally used to supply materials to local industries. Later in the year 1996 to commemorate the King’s golden jubilee an image of Buddha was carved on the hill. The image was a hundred and nine meters tall and seventy meters wide. Then the supreme patriarch of that time felt that is would be a total waste to carve on a perfectly good and beautiful mountain and not mark it out in gold. Thus, the carving was marked out in gold that made it all the more emphatic.
Ramayana water park – With beautiful natural surroundings this water park has risen up the ranks for attractive destinations in the city. With over 50 slides and attractions spread around an area of 184,000 square metres, it is the biggest in Thailand. First opened in May 2016, there is everything for any age group at Ramayana Water Park. A small lagoon with a selection of spray toys is perfect for the youngsters since the pool is covered with substances to protect their skin from the sun. The pools use fresh, clean water drawn from on-site wells, which is thoroughly cleaned with an excellent filtration system, meaning that it is actually theoretically drinkable.
Mimosa – This so-called city of love is impossible to miss for anyone driving south along Sukhumvit road. This is a creative and colourful shopping experience that is unlike any other place. It is home to cultural attractions, a large number of shops and promises a fun day out to whoever visits the place.
If you’re looking for an exciting pace with the reasonable cost of living there is no better place you can find than Jomtien. The average cost of an inexpensive meal at a low budget restaurant would be around 70 Baht. At the same time if you want to have three-course meal at a mid-range restaurant on your next dinner it would cost you around 900 Baht for two people. You can buy a litre of milk for 50 Baht and a kilogram of rice would be around 40 Baht. Eggs are available at a price of around 55 Baht. Travelling expenses are really cheap as a taxi can be availed for only 40 Baht base fare with an additional 15 Baht for every increased kilometre. Those of you looking to buy your own car to travel you would be spending around 1,500,000 Baht for a general sedan like Toyota Corolla.
If you want to settle down in Jomtien, you will probably want to search for condos or villas available for rent. Dependable on the size, type and location the condos range from 9,000 Baht to 80,000 Baht. If you’re looking for villas on rent you should be ready to pay around 15,000 Baht to around 85,000 Baht depending on the size, location and type of the property. The real estate market in Jomtien is really flexible which makes it one of the most accessible and safe markets in the whole country.
