Phatthalung is one of the provinces in Thailand that is located in the southern region of the country, it is also one of the seventy-seven provinces present in the whole country. The neighbouring provinces surrounding Phatthalung from the north in the clockwise direction would be Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Satun, and Trang. Phatthalung is one of the only two landlocked provinces in the southern part of the country along with Yala. The province is located on the Malay peninsula and it borders the huge Songkhla Lake while the west of the province is covered by the mountain chain of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The province was originally known as Mardelong in the Malay dialect from the time the area was under the influence of the Malay-Muslim people. The total land area the province of Phatthalung covers is 3,424 square kilometres while being home to a population of 525,044 as per the records of the census conducted in 2018. The district contains within itself 11 districts which are then further divided into 65 sub districts and 626 villages. The province has the 177-metre-high Phu Kao Ok Thalu mountain and the provincial tree and flower are the Shorea roxburghii.

Khao Ok Thalu
There are numerous limestone massifs found across the whole province of Phatthalung and Khao Ok Thalu is surely the most dramatic of them all; the structure looks just like a giant shark’s fin coming out of the body that is abundant with lush greenery. Tham Malai

Three-bedroom condos, on the other hand, can be a little tough to find but it would not be more than 8,000 Baht a month.

Should you move a little farther from the heart of the city, the sale prices drop to a certain point. You can find a one-bedroom studio condo on sale for a price of around 600,000 Baht, townhouses can cost you about 1,000,000 Baht to 1,500,000 Baht on the sale price. Single or detached houses can also be found at a significantly lower cost from the downtown area of the province with the price ranging from 1,600,000 Baht to 16,000,000 Baht. Land for sale is also popular in this area.
