Kathu District is on the west side of the island. Kathu District includes the sub-districts of Kathu, Patong, and Kamala.
Thalang District is the largest area, but the least populated. Thalang District includes the sub-districts of Choeng Thale(Bangtao, Laguna, Surin), Mai Khao, Pa Khlok, Sakhu, Si Sunthon, Thep Krasattri.
