Chatuchak is one of the fifty districts present in the city of Bangkok, Thailand. The district is surrounded by seven other districts which are (starting anti-clockwise) Bang Sue, Phaya Thai, Din Daeng Huai Khwang, Lat Phrao, Bang Khen, Lak Si. Chatuchak was originally a part os the Bang Khen district till 1988. Later it was declared an independent district in 1989. The name was derived from two of the biggest landmarks in it namely, Chatuchak Park and Chatuchak weekend market. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is the largest market in Thailand, with home to over Eleven thousand vendors putting up more than 15 thousand stalls on the Kamphaeng Phet 2 road in the district. Spread around the area of about 33,000 square kilometres Chatuchak's population is above 150,000. The climate in this district is hot nearly all year round.
