Phasi Charoen Sakha 1 district was combined with the Lak Song sub-district, formerly part of Nong Khaem District, to form a new district, called Khet Bang Khae. There are seven sub-districts within the land area covered by Bang Khae which is 17.834 square kilometres and houses a population of about 126,824 as per the records of the census conducted in the year 2017.
