Located on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Si Racha is a town in the Chonburi Province about 120 km southeast of Bangkok. The region is very popular for its world renowned hot sauce, Sriracha, named after the town itself. With a population of around 20,000 people, Si Racha was established as a subdistrict municipality in 1945 which was later upgraded as a town municipality in 1995.
