Overview
Phitsanulok is a province in Thailand located in the lower northern part of the country, it is one of the seventy-six provinces of Thailand. It borders Sukhothai and Uttaradit on the north, Loei and Phetchabun to the east, and Phichit and Kamphaeng Phet to the south. In the northeast, it borders Laos. The name Phitsanulok when translated means 'Vishnu's heaven’ or ‘Vishnu's world'. The total area of the province amounts up to almost Eleven thousand square kilometres and the population of the province amounts to more than eight and a half million. Historical records state that the area of the province may not have been the home of the ancestors of present-day Thai people living in the area while the history of the province dates back as far as the eleventh century. The province rose to its peak during the Sukhotai period when the temples Wat Chula Manee, Wat Aranyik and Wat Chedi Yod Thong were constructed. The province is divided into nine districts, which are then further divided into ninety-three sub-districts and a thousand and fifty-two villages. The districts are:
The province of Phitsanulok is rich in heritage and houses a lot of scenic and religious beauties. There are temples for you to find your soul and enjoy the Buddhist culture heartily. Phra Buddha Chinnarat:
This temple may be the most beautiful one in the entire province and the vast statue of Buddha is truly impressive. The visitors are allowed to take pictures inside the temple. Although you would not have any problems touring the temple by yourself it is recommended that you take a guide who speaks your language. There are not any rules as such but you should dress accordingly since this is a holy place.
Wat Nang Phaya:
Wat Phrang Naya is a monastery located on the eastern banks of the river Nan, while the structure acts as a link to the Wat Ratchabura campus. The monastery was said to be built around the years 1448 to 1488 when Phitsanulok was ruled by the king Trailokanat.
Chan Palace:
This is a royal palace situated just beside the Somdet Phra Naresuan the Great Army Camp and is the resting place of the shrine of King Naresuan the Great. Previously the place was used by the province for the Phitsanulok Pittayakhom School but the fine arts department of Thailand has finished the restoration of the palace.
Though a major tourist attraction site Phitsanulok is one of the cheapest areas in the country. If you’re looking for an inexpensive meal in a restaurant you would have to pay around 100 Baht for that. If you prefer to have a three-course meal in a mid-range restaurant with someone you should be ready to spend around 1000 Baht for that. A litre of milk would cost you about 55 baht and a kilogram of rice would be about 44 Baht. A dozen eggs would cost about 50 Baht. A taxi can be used to travel around the city with 35 Baht base fare and an increasing 16 Baht for every kilometre. A monthly pass can be made at the cost of around 600 Baht and if you would prefer to ride your own vehicle you should be ready to spend around 1,200,000 Baht for a general sedan car. If you are a first-time visitor you are sure to be amazed at the simple yet exciting living that goes on here. You would be even more surprised if you are coming from the urban countries such as Europe or Americas, where the cost of living is astonishingly higher than here but Phitsanulok offers so many great places to visit and never fails to quantify your needs even though the prices are low.
If you are looking forward to settling down in Phitsanulok, you would probably want to look at condos (apartments) or villas (houses) for rent. Dependable on the size, type and location the condos range from 8,000 Baht to 70,000 Baht. If you’re looking for houses on rent you would have to pay around 15,000 Baht to around 85,000 Baht again depending on the size, location and type of the property. The real estate market in Phitsanulok makes it one of the most accessible and safe in the whole country.

If you choose to move away from the downtown area, a 1 bedroom condo on rent can be found at a low price of 4,000 Baht per month while a 3 bedroom condo for rent will be hard to find but will cost you around 8,000 Baht per month, A Single House or Detached House for rent in the other hand will cost 10,000 – 20,000 Baht Rent per month.

For a 1 bedroom condo for Sale from a reputed developer you may pay somewhere around 1,200,000 Baht if you choose to buy a townhouse, a townhouse for Sale may be similar to condo for sale at rate of 1,200,000 – 1,800,000 Baht for Sale price. A 3 bedroom condo for Sale is hard to find in this area but it may cost you about 2,500,0000 -7,000,000 Baht for sale price. A second hand Single House or Detached House for Sale in the other hand will be much more easy to find and more suitable for a family to live in, A house may cost around 1,500,000 – 30,000,000 Baht for sale price in prime location. If you choose to move away from the downtown main area, a 1 bedroom Condo for Sale can be found at a low price of 600,000 Baht for sale price, while a 3 bedroom condo for Sale as it will be hard to find but it may cost you around 1,800,000 Baht sale price. if you choose to buy a townhouse, a townhouse for Sale at rate of 1,000,000 – 1,800,000 Baht for Sale price. A Single House or Detached House for Sale in the other hand will cost 1,500,000 – 20,000,000 Baht Sale Price. Land for sale is also very popular in this area for Commercial use or Residential use, the price of a plot of land will be very depends on the size of the land the location of the land the building right that this land has. Before you buy a piece of land make sure you will get the land appraisal to know it value.
